Can you dye upholstered fabric?
For cotton, hemp or plant-fiber upholstery, you need fiber-reactive dyes. For silk, wool and some nylons, you need acid dyes with fixatives that lock in the color. Some dyeing processes call for using hot or boiling water; before dyeing any upholstery fabric, verify the fabric is preshrunk by checking the care label.
