How much does NYCHA charge for AC?
Many residents rely on cooling centers as only half of NYCHA residents have air conditioning systems in their home. NYCHA residents have to get prior approval to install air conditioners and must pay a monthly fee of $8 per unit.
Can you have a washing machine in NYCHA?
NYCHA permits the installation and maintenance of up to two (2) air conditioners; one (1) dishwasher; one (1) freezer and one (1) washing machine (clothes). Electric or gas clothes dryers, even if part of a washer/dryer combination unit, are prohibited.

Do you get a refund for a NYCHA parking permit?
NYCHA does not grant refunds of parking fees after the issuance of a Parking Permit. If you are a resident or non-resident and decide to apply online, please note that all electronic copies of supporting documentation must be uploaded with your completed application.
How old do you have to be to get a NYCHA parking permit?
To be eligible for the senior discount for your NYCHA Parking Permit, you must be at least 62 years of age or older at the time you submit your application. After submitting your application online, you will then receive an email confirming receipt.
