How do I turn my BMW parking sensor on?
The sensors monitor the areas at the front and rear of the car and issue an audio and visual alert to potential obstacles. The system is automatically switched on when reverse gear is selected. You can’t reset them. If you get someone you trust(!) to sit in the car and engage reverse and then you go to the sensors in the rear bumper and listen to which one is making a slight buzz… thats the one not working.

Why are my parking sensors not working properly?
Put up with it a while, when the car was in for something else I had the PDC diagnosed and it was showing that one of the sensors was detecting an object that wasn’t there. No fault codes showing. Bought a new sensor but not got around to fitting it.

Cars with reverse sensors results in lazy drivers that relies on the sensor to warn them of any object behind the car.. thus when they reverse w/o really checking, the ramp their cars right into railings or objects… rather not have sensors.
