What happened to RSBot?
On the 2nd of October 2020, Jagex has just announced on the website that RSBot & Powerbot will be shut down permanently on midnight of 3rd October 2020. This actually follows on from Jagex’s 2019 victory of getting two popular gold sites down.
What happened to powerbot?
The shutdown As you might already know, Powerbot shut down at the start of October 2020, bringing an end to the oldest bot client available for OldSchool RuneScape. The original domain (powerbot.org) was handed over to Jagex and now redirects to the official RuneScape® website.

How does jagex know if your Botting?
The way Jagex detects bots, for the most part, is by reading mouse movements and other behavioral patterns of a character. More primitive bots get banned within minutes of running. Since most of the time, multiple people are using the same bot, Jagex is already aware of the patterns used by each bot.
Are RuneScape bots illegal?
Macroing, botting, or autoing is the act of using third-party software to perform automated tasks. A macro operates by automating user input to the game. Usage of macros is not allowed under the RuneScape rules (Rule 7) and may result in action taken against that player’s account, such as a temporary or permanent ban.

Historically, we have not given bans for some usage of programmable mouse keys (such as AutoHotKey). If players kept their usage of such software to an acceptable standard, we would not take action against them. This is no longer the case.
