What happens if I lose my Clipper card?
For a $5 fee, we can replace your adult, Youth or Senior Clipper card and restore your balance. At your request, we can mail you a new card with your balance restored, typically within 2 business days. For faster replacement, you also can pick up your replacement card at a Clipper Customer Service Center.
Does a Clipper card expire?
Unlike a credit or debit card, the Clipper card does not expire; however, you will need to renew your eligibility for Clipper START once every two years to continue receiving the discount.

To transfer your unused cash balance to a new card, you need to purchase a new adult Clipper card on your device and then call Clipper Customer Service at 877.878. 8883 to request a balance transfer.
Are Clipper cards transferable?

Where to reload Clipper card?
You can actually refill your Clipper card at any Muni or Muni/BART station throughout the Embarcadero to West Portal Stations. You can also refill your Clipper card at Daly City, Balboa Park or Glen Park Stations.
Can I use my Clipper card on cable car?
You can only use your Clipper Card on the cable cars if you are a monthly pass holder. Card readers on cable cars are only able to detect whether you have a monthly pass and cannot read the value on your card.
