What is Bonaseal?

Bonaseal® wood floor sealer is specially formulated for use with Bona Naturale®, Bona Traffic®, Bona Mega®, and Bona Strong™ finishes. Bonaseal® seals the wood, minimizes grain raise, provides a build layer, and prevents the finish from penetrating into the wood surface.

CURING: The curing process takes approximately 3 days (80% cured after 1 day, 100% after 3 days). The floor may be w alked on after 24 hours but remains susceptible to scuffing or marring until completely cured.

Is urethane the same as epoxy?

Of the two, epoxy is a higher-strength substance that prevents a surface from moving. Though epoxy is strong, it will crack on surfaces that frequently move. Urethane retains flexibility. Structures that contract or expand with seasons or temperatures are better suited for urethane.

It’s important to note that you do not need to use a sealer when you use Bona DriFast Stain. Our stain formula will penetrate and seal the wood so it’s ready for a coat of finish. However, if you do decide to use a sealer over Bona stain for coloration purposes, we do have some recommendations.
