Who killed Char Aznable?
Despite AEUG’s victory in the Gryps War against the Titans, Char is defeated in the final battle by Haman Karn, leader of the emerging Axis (later Neo Zeon) faction and assumed dead.
Is Char Aznable a new type?
His bold leadership which he is well known for also developed at the military academy. Albeit being an excellent pilot, Char’s abilities as a Newtype are far less than those of his archrival Amuro Ray. Char’s Newtype abilities only developed as a result of long term training.

He is originally one of the main antagonists in Mobile Suit Gundam working for the Principality of Zeon, named after his late father Zeon Zum Deikun, with the honorary title of “The Red Comet” (赤い彗星, Akai Suisei) during Gundam’s One Year War.

In this version Amuro is killed in the final attack against the Zeonic stronghold of A Baoa Qu when his RX-78-3 is pierced through the torso by a Rick Dom’s beam bazooka. However, after his death, Amuro’s consciousness communicates with Char’s sister, Sayla Mass, and tells her she is not alone.
Is Char a strong Newtype?
Char, like Amuro, develops his formidable ability in combat only after years of experience. Although his Newtype abilities were not as powerful as Amuro’s, Char was among the best Newtypes of the era, due to the fact that a lot of the previous battles were on the earth sphere.
Why did Char wear a mask?
