If you don’t have a car you can walk from town up to the Sand Blow but keep in mind you’ll need to walk up a steep hill to get there. If you do have a car you can drive up to the Sand Blow easily and park in the Carlo Carpark.

Why is it called Carlo Sand Blow?

Carlo Sand Blow was named by Captain Cook after a member of his crew, Carlo. It is part of the Cooloola Sand Mass, which is one of the largest coastal sand deposits along the Queensland coastline, spanning more than 42km.

Definitely swim between the flags at Rainbow Beach. Beware of the strong tidal currents at Inskip Point and, while the southern beach is usually the safest with the lowest waves and few rips, be careful of the vehicle traffic on the beach.
