The 2021 Summer Reading Challenge will be a celebration of reading, nature and action for the environment. Developed in partnership with WWF, the world’s leading independent conservation organisation, Wild World Heroes will inspire children to stand up for the future of our planet.
Can you do the Summer Reading Challenge online?
You can use your account to take part in the Challenge online. Your parent or carer will need to create their own adult account first, then they can set up a child account for you. This is so your parent or carer can look after your personal information and give us their permission for you to have an account.

Welcome to Summer Reading 2021: Tails and Tales! It’s the perfect time for students of all ages to see what their local library has to offer! The 2021 summer reading slogan is “Tails and Tales” and libraries are planning many fun programs and events around this animal theme.
How do I add books to Summer Reading Challenge?
To add a book, look out for the purple button that says ‘Add a new book now’. You can search for your latest reads, rate books out of 5 and write reviews to share your thoughts. Adding the books you have read will unlock new badges that you can see on your profile page.
What’s in a Name reading Challenge 2021?
The challenge runs from 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2021. You can sign up any time, but can only count books you read between those dates. Read a book in any format (hard copy, ebook, audio) with a title that fits into each category. Don’t use the same book for more than one category.
